Cuba
In 2008 I flew to Havana, Cuba, to investigate the dwindling, yet elusive, Jewish community in Cuba while Raul Castro was taking over for his brother, Fidel. My goal was to find Cubans who were separated from family members who decided to convert to Judaism and leave Cuba in hopes for better economic freedom in Israel.
